Janice MacKenzie is an acupuncture practitioner and teacher with over 25 years experience in the field. She studied at the College of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture (U.K.) under Professor J.R. Worsley, founder of the school and one of the leading proponents of Five Element acupuncture. In addition, she studied extensively with Simon Mills, M.A., a Master Herbalist from Exeter, England, and Cara Frank, R.Ac., in Philadelphia, and has taken seminars and workshops with many of the leading acupuncturists in the United States, including: Ted Kaptchuk; Mark Seem; Kiiko Matsumoto; Dianne Connelly; Bob Duggan; Leon Hammer; Yves Requena; Bob Flaws; Peter Eckman: and Lonny Jarrett.

Janice is currently a faculty member of the Acupuncture Studies Program at the Won Institute of Graduate Studies in Glenside, PA; and also a faculty member of the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine in Montclair, New Jersey. In addition, she has done extensive public lecturing and teaching about acupuncture and Oriental medicine in and around the Philadelphia area.

Janice was a co-founder and vice president of the Pennsylvania Acupuncture Society in 1983, a grass-roots organization created to change the law regarding acupuncture in Pennyslvania. The new law was signed into effect in February, 1986. Subsequently, she became the Secretary of the newly-formed Acupuncture Society of Pennyslvania (ASOP), a professional society of acupuncturists devoted to education and professional development. For several years thereafter she was a member of ASOP's Board of Directors, and was the creator and editor of the ASOP Newsletter, which published from 1989 to 2000. Janice is currently a member of the Association for Professional Acupuncture in Pennsylvania. Janice's past writing experiences have included being the Assistant Editor of the Wharton Magazine (a national business magazine), and having original poems published in several poetry magazines, including Earth's Daughters, Niagara, Rapport, and Women's Voices. More recently, Janice has been a contributor to the Journal of Traditional Acupuncture, Meridians, the Oriental Medicine Journal, and the ASOP Newsletter.

When she's not practicing acupuncture, Janice's other interests include bicycling, Tai Chi and photography. She lives in a small town in rural Pennsylvania with her husband, acupuncturist/guitarist/Tai Chi instructor Rolly Brown , and two Australian Kelpies named Keli and Django.
